What is the difference between a normal TV and a security monitor?

On a security monitor, picture quality is much higher than on a normal TV. The enhanced image is especially important for viewing multiple camera images (when using a video splitter).

Security monitors have no TV tuner.


When should you consider using a security monitor?
When you plan to record multiple cameras through a video splitter, use a security monitor for greater detail.

For the highest image quality in your recorded video during playback, security monitors can show details that could never be seen by a TV.

Use security monitors for viewing in extreme heat or cold, dusty or otherwise harsh conditions.

Use security monitors when BNC connectors are necessary.
